Last week, after a 10-month search, the Conyers-Rockdale Economic Development Council appointed former city councilman Marty Jones as its new executive director.
The CREDC board members looked far and wide in their efforts to appoint a leader to take the position that Glenn Sears so ably filled until his retirement.
Jones is a lifelong resident of Conyers, and never could you question his dedication or desire to continue to make Conyers-Rockdale a friendly place to live and to operate a business.
We feel Jones will put in more than the required time to attract positive business to our community. We do know that if he believes in something, he will persist until he reaches a positive outcome.
We look forward to Marty Jones' tenure as the Economic Development Council director. He brings a youthful enthusiasm to a position that needs dogged persistence - and he is a true Georgia Bulldog, afterall - to ensure that we can continue to attract businesses that will not only bring more jobs but will become involved in the everyday fabric of our community. Companies such as these, combined with leadership that has the best interest of the whole community at heart, make Conyers-Rockdale a fantastic place to live, work, play and learn.
