The Rockdale County Public schools are going to crack down on dress codes for their students.

We agree with this decision enthusiastically.

In fact we would like to see it go further and have some kind of uniform worn by our public school students.
Some of the new styles are outrageous and distracting. And the cost for parents to keep up with these new styles and trends causes strain on the family budget in a tight economy.

Schools are meant to be a place of education, not a runway to display fashion or the latest styles.
