People working together in a strong community with a shared goal and a common purpose can make the impossible possible.

In nearby Newton County community and elected officials have gathered and worked together since 2002 under a collaboration that has developed a working plan, called the 2050 Plan, that guides the direction the county is going to grow and prosper.
This collaboration of leaders meets and leaves their differences outside the meeting room door as they work out mutual problems with a give and take that is almost unprecedented in many small communities.
The Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce organized a group of our own community leaders to visit the Center for Community Preservation and planning in Covington last week and listened to the Center’s Director Kay Lee explain how the project was started and about the success it has become today.
We hope this concept that works so well in Newton County can be put in place here, recognizing that change does not happen overnight.
The Chamber has the facilities, if community leaders have the courage and the desire to work together. We can see that such a program would be a major benefit for Conyers-Rockdale County.
