We were more than pleased that the Charles P. Cole Citizen Involvement award was given to two individuals last week, who are not only good citizens but true community heroes.

Bud Soesbee, a World War II veteran, and Vietnam veteran and veterans advocate Tommy Clack have spent their after-service lives supporting and honoring our local veterans. Their work with the Walk of Heroes Veterans Memorial will be a living testament to their dedication and honor.

To both of these gentlemen, we stand and salute you and thank you for everything that you stand for.

You, without a doubt, are true blue American heroes; we are fortunate to have both of you here in our county.
