Oscar “Marty” Martin, Jr., age 83 of Conyers, a retired retail manager with the J. C. Penney Company, died Sunday, July 3, 2011.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Martin, Conyers; son, Robert Howard Martin, Glenn Allen, VA; daughter, Sandra & David Dahmer, Brookville, FL; 17 grandchildren &13 great-grandchildren.  Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a retired retail manager with the J.C. Penney Company and a member of First Baptist Church of Conyers where he was a member of the choir.  He enjoyed visiting and singing at the local nursing homes where he shared his trademark smile.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Long officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
