As part of our ongoing coverage of the Whitehead murder case, the News looks at how some of the people closest to Jarmecca "Nikki" Whitehead are coping one year later and delve into the relationships of this troubled family. On stands now in the Jan. 8 edition.

Stuck in Limbo: The holidays were a quiet time for the friends and family of Jarmecca Yvonne "Nikki" Whitehead. Her twin daughters, Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah Whitehead, now age 17, were charged with their mother’s death in May. Those who loved Nikki are still mourning, questioning why it happened and if there was anything they could have said or done differently to change the tragic outcome.

Feuding Split Whitehead Family: Nikki's mother Lynda Whitehead describes the cycle of estrangement between mother and daughter that repeated itself through four generations and how she's coping with her daughter's death and her granddaughter's charges.
