A promising autumn weekend and a smorgasborg of delights await at this year's Olde Town Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Olde Town Conyers.
Main Street Conyers Director Monica Coffin said she was having to turn away vendors and that more had signed up earlier on than usual.
"We've had a lot more calls come in," said Coffin. "We think those are very good signs."
Along with more than 95 vendors selling a wide variety arts, foods, and unique gifts, the 31st annual festival will have free children's activities and craft booths, sponsored by local businesses, to keep little ones busy."
"It's the longest running festival. The vendors have definitely come through for us again and are giving us a nice variety of goods. I think everyone's going to enjoy themselves," said Coffin.
A costume contest for two-legged children will be at 3 p.m. and a constume contest for four-legged canine children - dogs - will be held at 3:30 p.m. Prizes include tickets to the Georgia Aquarium, grooming services, and organic baked dog treats.
After a successful debut last year, the scarecrow contest returns, benefiting the Conyers Police Auxilliary unit this year. Registration deadline is Oct. 15 and the entry fee is $25.
