IN BRIEF: No challenge to the Sheriff's race election results was filed in Rockdale County Superior Court by Monday's deadline, according to the Rockdale County Clerk of Courts' office. Sheriff Jeff Wigington, the five-term Republican incumbent, had until close of business, or 5 p.m., to file any challenge to the Sheriff's race election where Democratic challenger Eric Levett won by 32 votes. The totals after early voting and election day voting had put Wigington ahead by 18 votes, but a count on Nov. 9 of provisional, military and mail-in absentee ballots had put Levett ahead by 34. An automatic recount on Nov. 13 found a difference of one less vote for Levett and one more vote for Wigington.
