IN BRIEF: At approximately 2:45 p.m., the Newton County Sheriff's Office received a called from a gun range on Lower River road in reference to an officer-involved shooting during training.

A deputy sustained a non-life-threatening injury to one of his extremities and was transported to an Atlanta Medical Center.

The incident is under investigation.
