Newborn resident Dana Massey, 38, was killed on Ga. Highway 142 this morning after hitting a deer, losing control of her vehicle and then striking two trees, said Newton County Sheriff Sgt. Michael Cunningham.

Massey was driving a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer and traveling northbound on Ga. 142 around 7 a.m. before wrecking near Eastridge Community Church, Cunningham said.

The call came in from a passerby and Massey was declared dead on scene, Cunningham said. No one else was in the vehicle.
