"A Mighty Fortress is our God", based on Psalms 91:2, was the theme for this year's National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5. NDP's Chairman Shirley Dobson said, "These are times of challenge, uncertainty and hardship in our nation, and I can't think of a more fitting verse to capture the hope that can only be found in the Lord." As many area churches did, Conyers First United Methodist Church opened its doors as a spot for reflection and prayer. CFUMC's Nancy Parkinson said she was moved by the Holy Spirit's impact on those she witnessed leaving the sanctuary that day. Roughly 100 people signed in to go through the sanctuary's prayer stations.  - Jessica Smith
