UPDATE: The worker killed on I-20 Saturday was identified as Tristram Harvey, 51, of Decatur.

A worker was killed at the construction zone of Interstate 20 westbound in Rockdale Saturday when a dump truck reportedly backed over him.

Approximately 9:33 p.m., troopers responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a dump truck and a pedestrian on I-20 WB at mileage market 84 in Rockdale County.

A dump truck was backing east in the westbound lanes, in unison with other equipment. A worker walked south behind the truck and was struck, causing him to become lodged under the undercarriage.

He was pronounced dead on scene.

Georgia State Patrol is handling the investigation and SCRT is assisting in the investigation.

No alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to be a factor in the crash.
