Mrs. Myra Chambers Hume, of Conyers, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Born in DeKalb County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Elzie C. and Nellie Putnam Chambers. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Beverley Hume; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Margurette Chambers; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Jack Brookshire. Mrs. Hume was a former resident of Decatur, GA and Beckley, WV, moving to Conyers from West Virginia with her husband in 1975. She was a retired executive secretary with 24-years of service with the former Montag's, a stationery and school supply manufacturer. She enjoyed gardening, reading, travel and genealogy. Mrs. Hume was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church, the Maxwell Class and Lydia Circle. She was a member of the Col. John McIntosh Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by nephew and wife, Bill and Penny Chambers, Douglasville, GA; niece and husband, Ann and Don Gilleece, Letterkenny, Rep. of Ireland; great nieces and nephews; stepson, Andrew Hume, MN; stepdaughter, Tempie Comeford, FL; stepdaughter-in-law, Nancy Hume, NC; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens with Dr. John Beyers officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
