In a celebration of music and undiscovered talent, Elks Aidmore, Inc. hosts the “60 Days to Elks Aidmore Music Festival,” a free showcase of local bands sponsored by The News that will take place at the Conyers Starbucks every Friday leading up to the April 28 music festival.
This showcase, which runs March 2 to April 20 at the Starbucks on Ga. Highway 138, features different local bands each week and is an opportunity for musicians to compete for the chance to perform at the Elks Aidmore Music Festival on April 28.
In addition, the band whose videos have the most views will also be profiled in The News.
The announced schedule is as follows:
March 2 showcase kicks off with The Video Blankets, JAHAH, and Mr.E. Worldwide.
March 9 - Frets on Fire, Walker Hayden
March 16 - Reed Ferguson, Dana Rogers
March 23 - Son Jazzy Latin Orchestra, Jonathan Kilgore (saxophonist)
March 30 - RMac Daddy and the Sole Pupose, Stark Jazz Trio
“We are approximately 60 days away from the music festival and the artist showcases at Starbucks will provide the community with great music leading up to the music festival. In addition to the showcases, we will have giveaways and the public will be able to purchase tickets for the April 28 music festival,” said Dawn Butler, Development Director.
Elks Aidmore is working to create a blues and jazz music festival that will leave festival goers informed about foster care; pleased with the artists/music and looking forward to the 2013 music festival.
Featured artists include jazz violinist Ken Ford and Claudette King, Blues singer, daughter of the legendary B.B. King.
