The Montessori School of Covington is hosting two Open House sessions on Tuesday, May 21.
The morning session, from 9 am to 11 am, will offer visitors an opportunity to tour the school during regular hours to observe the students in the classroom. The evening session, from 6 pm until 7:30 pm, will also include an informational meeting regarding the Georgia Cyber Academy at Montessori School of Covington addition for high-school level students beginning in the fall. Board members, faculty and parents will be available to answer questions during both drop-in sessions Tuesday.
"Open House is an excellent opportunity for prospective families to visit our facility and become familiar with the Montessori method of education as well as our school family," Director Jane Moon said. "We welcome everyone to join us as we showcase our school in preparation for the next school year."
Developed over 100 years ago, the Montessori method provides a hand-on approach to learning that values each student's unique strengths, differences and educational needs. With a curriculum of math, language, science, practical life, physical education, the arts, computer science and hands-on exploration, students also participate extracurricular activities that encourage real-world application of learning, community service, leadership and peer mentoring.
