Mr. Michael L. Shrum, age 54 of Oxford, died Friday, May 13, 2011.  He was preceded in death by his father, G. Lloyd Shrum.  He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Shrum; daughter, Michelle Shrum; grandson, Devin Armstead; mother, Elsie M. Shrum; aunts and uncles.  Mr. Shrum was a retired truck driver.  He was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World.  He graduated from Rockdale High School in 1975 and was a volunteer firefighter with Newton County.  Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Conyers First United Methodist Church with Dr. John Beyers and Rev. Dan Brokaw officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.  He will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 1 p.m. at the church.  Family will receive friends Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to Conyers First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 921 N.
