Nine students were recognized for academic achievement by Duke University.

The students, from Memorial Middle School, had already taken the SAT or ACT and were invited to Duke's Honor Academy for math or University Academy for math, science and language arts. Students in the top 95 percent earn state recognition and are named to Duke's national Talent Search List.

The students are:
