Marquis Grissom Family Fun Day coming

Spring is just days away, and that means baseball season is upon us.

Baseball fans and young players in Rockdale will have a chance to experience the sport in a fun and free way on April 23.

The Marquis Grissom Baseball Association is hosting a Community Family Fun Day at the Grissom Fields of Dreams from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The day will feature the Aquafina MLB Pitch, Hit & Run local competition, prizes, games autographs, raffles and a free clinic with tips by Marquis Grissom and others. There will also be an Easter egg hunt for children ages three to seven.

Grissom, a two time MLB All-Star and a member of the 1995 Atlanta Braves World Series Champions, will be in Conyers, along with Brian Jordan, Lenny Webster and others.

"We are very pleased and excited to invite everyone to our 3rd Annual MGBA Community Family Fun Day" Marquis Grissom said. "I always look forward to this fun event. As a young boy I enjoyed the beginning of baseball season each year, and our MGBA Board of Directors is providing a wonderful opportunity for our youth and their entire families to experience this joy of a new season."

The Atlanta Braves B.A.T. team will also be in attendance with bounce houses and other fun activities.

"We wanted to give back to our communities in a productive way," Grissom said.
