Officers with the Conyers Police Department are investigating an armed robbery at the Days Inn on Dogwood Drive.

According to Conyers Police Chief David Cathcart, on Saturday, April 11, the suspect entered the hotel and inquired about a room. The clerk answered his questions, but the suspect said he did not have his wallet and left.

The suspect returned a short time later with cash, but it was not enough to rent the room. He left again saying that he was going to get more money.

When the suspect returned a third time, he pulled out a gun on the clerk, followed him to the rear of the office and demanded money. He told the attendant to lie down on the floor and not look at him.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 22 - 26 years old, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall with a thin build and long dreadlocks.

He was wearing black pants, dark shirt, a dark jacket with light trim that resembled a windbreaker, and a baseball cap with a design on the front and side.

The weapon was described as a .38 caliber firearm.

Anyone with information on the robbery should contact Criminal Investigator Jack Dunn. Individuals who wish to leave the information anonymously should call 770-483-6600.
