Man charged with molestation

A Covington man has been arrested and charged with child molestation.

NCSO Deputy Felecia Jefferson said deputies arrested Stephen Kelley Parker, 55, on Nov. 6 after an investigation of allegations that he had sex with a 15-year-old female.

Jefferson said NCSO investigators conducted forensic interviews after the victim told an adult that she had been assaulted over the course of the past two years. Jefferson said the adult then notified law enforcement.

Jefferson noted that Parker was known to the victim’s family. No further details were given.

Parker has been charged with aggravated sodomy and child molestation and remains in the Newton County Jail, Jefferson said.
