Man found after manhunt called off in south Rockdale
Rockdale-County-Sherriffs-

UPDATE: The search for a 32-year-old white male who was described by his family as possibly threatening suicide was called off Friday evening and he was found shortly after at a local bar.

The man was not a suspect who had escaped custody, said Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Lt. James Cabe. "We were trying to search for him for his own well-being."

RCSO deputies received a call of a person possibly armed and possibly threatening suicide before 6:30 p.m. Friday. The family reportedly told deputies the man had fired a gun in the woods behind his residence in south Rockdale and then walked off through the woods.

A Code Red alert was issued, warning residents to call 911 if they spotted anyone fitting his description.

The man reportedly walked through the woods to Ga. Highway 212 and encountered a person he knew, who gave him a ride to the bar. During that time, his family reported him as missing and possibly in posession of a firearm. The firearm was later found and was not in his posession.

A search perimeter was set up at 6:30 p.m. and was called off 9 p.m. Around 9:30 p.m., the man was found at the establishment by a deputy who recalled seeing him there before. He told deputies he was unaware of the search that had been going on for him.
