Magical night for Dads, Daughters

It's time again for fathers to look forward to a special night with their daughters as the Father-Daughter Ball is just days away.
The Rotary Club of Rockdale County's fourth annual Father-Daughter Ball, entitled A Magical Night, will be on Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Rockdale Career Academy with doors opening 6 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dancing until 9 p.m. This year's event, entitled "A Magical Night," will feature the dazzling skills of magician Joe M. Turner, an award winning performer of illusions who has been seen on Good Morning America, Nightline, CNN Headline News and in other media outlets.

Tickets are $40 per father, $30 for first daughter and $20 each additional daughter available only through advance sales. The deadline to purchase tickets is Monday Jan. 25. Tickets can be purchased by sending an application and payment to the Rotary Club of Rockdale County or fatherdaughterball@gmail.com, or at the following locations: Scot Ward Funeral Services, Seven Gables Restaurant, Edward Jones/Tim Baker Office, Premier Platforms Office, United Community Bank Hwy 138 branch, Hendrick and Dodson Family Dentistry, Fortin Chiropractic Clinic, Rockdale Citizen, Dr. Juan Arrue Dentist Office, Conyers Pharmacy.

Proceeds from the Father-Daughter Ball benefit the Empty Stocking Fund, which buys presents for families in need, and other Rotary Club community projects. Organizer Tom Harrison said this event, which began in 2007 with "The Prince and Princess theme" was the club's biggest annual fundraiser.

The ball began in February 2007 with the theme "The Prince and Princess."
