More than 200 friends, family members, firefighters and community members turned out April 12 at Heritage High School for a special lantern lighting service honoring the life and spirit of Kate Caruso, a Heritage graduate and fourth grade teacher at Young Americans Christian School who died one year ago from cancer. Caruso’s family announced the creation of the “Kate Caruso Light the Way Award” scholarship for a drama student at Heritage.
