To the Editor:
Citizens choose to run for public office for many reasons. From the reports I have been reading, it seems that most of the elected officials in the county to our west run for office because they are either looking for a job or an unlimited expense account... or maybe both! It is rare these days to find someone running for public office that exhibits an altruistic spirit; a selfless concern for the well-being of others. We are fortunate that we have such an individual here in Rockdale County. For the past eight years, JaNice Van Ness has shown selfless concern for the well-being of our county as Post 2 Rockdale County Commissioner. Mrs. Van Ness is a business owner, a mother of three and, with her family's blessing, is offering to again serve Rockdale County as one of our three commissioners.
During the years JaNice has held office, I have observed that she studies all aspects of issues before voting in the best interests of the taxpayers and the employees of Rockdale County. I have observed that she is passionate about what she believes to be right or wrong and she is not afraid to make her concerns known to her fellow commissioners.
The citizens of Rockdale County do not need a new and inexperienced person in the Post 2 chair when we already have JaNice sitting there. I will be voting for JaNice Van Ness and I urge you to vote for her too!
