Leak postpones Rockdale-Heritage game

Rains dampened the Rockdale vs. Heritage basketball game Tuesday night, as a leaky roof stopped one contest and pushed back another.

The games were stopped at halftime of the girls' contest at the Rockdale High School gym when water was dripping near an air condition vent close to the basket on the side of the building's main entrance.

The girls' game was called and the boys' was moved to Wednesday at 4 p.m. The rain is expected to clear out after 1 a.m. Wednesday, with just a 10 percent chance expected around game time.

With the moisture constantly building up on the floor, the leak posed a safety hazard to the players.

"I completely agree with them postponing it due to the safety of the players," Heritage coach Drew Williams said. "It was a pretty significant leak."

RCHS is currently building a new gymnasium and athletic facilities.
