Patrons of the West Avenue Coin Laundry alerted authorities to suspected drug activity in the parking lot last week, leading to the arrest of Conyers man suspected of dealing marijuana with a small child in his vehicle.

Conyers police officers arrested Courtney Dantrell Fisher, 28, of 2620 Weatherstone Circle, around 11pm Wednesday, Dec. 19 for allegedly selling marijuana. According to the arrest report, Fisher was riding in a black Ford Expedition driven by a female whose small child was in the backseat. When confronted and asked for identification by the officers, Fisher allegedly pulled a mason jar containing one large bag and several small bags of marijuana from his coat pocket.

Fisher was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of school property and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 100 feet of a housing project. Officers also allegedly found several text messages indicating recent drug activity on Fisher's phone.

The driver of the vehicle, Wendy Betts, age and address unknown, was also cited with possession of marijuana after officers allegedly found traces of marijuana in the passenger rear area and console of the vehicle. Betts, who is the mother of the small child riding in the rear of the vehicle, was not arrested at the scene.
