Kaiser Permanente announced it would open a clinic in Conyers sometime in spring 2011..

The 6,700 square-foot Conyers Medical Office, located at 1478 Dogwood Drive, will house about eight to 12 health care professionals working from the clinic and will have exam and procedure rooms, a laboratory and an on-site pharmacy.

“Expanding to Conyers and Fayetteville allows us to better serve our growing Kaiser Permanente membership in and around those communities,” said Peter Andruszkiewicz, president of Kaiser Permanente of Georgia, in a released statement. “We look forward to providing quality, affordable health care to the residents of Rockdale and Fayette counties for many years to come.”

The Conyers office is the company’s first site in Rockdale County. Kaiser Permanente is also opening a new clinic in Fayetteville, its first in Fayette County, and has about eight other medical offices across the metro Atlanta region and a total of 27 medical facilities.

The cost to build the Conyers and Faytteville clinics were about $4.6 million.

Physicians of The Southeast Permanente Medical Group will provide internal medicine and pediatric services for Kaiser Permanente members at the new locations. Additional specialties may be added.

The Conyers-Rockdale Economic Development Council reported earlier this year the new clinic would represent about 22 full time jobs, with an average salary of about $30,000.

The Conyers and Fayetteville medical offices are slated to open in the first quarter of 2011. Within the past year, Kaiser Permanente has opened new facilities in Newnan, Snellville, Douglasville, West Marietta, East Cobb, Holly Springs, Downtown Decatur and Lawrenceville.
