Mrs. Emma Janet "Net" Stanton, age 88 of Conyers, died Thursday, January 19, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Stanton; parents, Darlton and Mary Lou Garner; sister, Ella Ruth Hayes; brothers, Horace Garner, Earl Garner, and Roy Garner. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph R. (Joe) and Gail Stanton, Sr., Sunset Beach, NC, Roger Stanton, Conyers; grandchildren, Leigh-Ann Stanton, Sunset Beach, NC, Joseph R. Stanton, Jr., Covington, Emmie Stanton, Conyers, Victoria Stanton, McDonough, Brooklyn Stanton, McDonough, Noel Stanton, McDonough; sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Grover Vickery, Conyers; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stanton's family was her life and she always made sure they were taken care of. She was an avid gardener and spent summers canning the numerous vegetables she had grown. In the winter her hobbies were crocheting and knitting. She worked at Porterdale Mill and also assisted her husband working at their store, Highway 138 Grocery. Janet loved her church and enjoyed working in different ministries. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Chapel on Ebenezer Road with Rev. Mike Nickolich officiating; interment will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
