Authorities are working to find a 13-year-old Covington teen that they believed ran away from home between the night of May 1 and the early morning hours of May 2.

Jordan Marie Aaron, 13, was last seen at 9 p.m. Wednesday night. When her parent went to wake her up around 6 a.m. Thursday, the teen wasn’t in her bed. However, blankets had been placed underneath the covers of her bed, in order to look as if she was in bed. Her makeup and hair products were also missing, and according to Newton County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Cortney Morrison, the case is currently being treated as a runaway, though investigators are looking at every angle, and very much want to make sure the teen is safe.

Jordan is 5-feet-4-inches tall, and weighs around 154 lbs. She has blue eyes and brownish-red hair. She recently had ankle surgery and walks with a limp.

“We need to know that this girl’s okay,” said Morrison. “We need to know where she is. Right now our main concern is finding out where this little girl is and making sure she is safe and that no one is harming her.”

Jordan has been entered into the Georgia Crime Information Center. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the NCSO at 678-625-1400 or online at www.newtonsheriffga.org, or to call 911. All tips can be given anonymously.
