HR, Fire Chief finalists named

Rockdale County announced its top two candidates for Human Resources director and fire chief on Monday.
For fire chief, the finalists are: Frank Woodrow Wilson II, deputy fire chief in Jerome, Idaho, since 2010. Wilson's resume listed positions in fire departments in Washington state since 1994, a Bachelor's in social science and fire administration from Western Oregon University, along with other related certifications. He listed service with the US Navy from 1986-1993.

Rick Clemons, deputy training director with the Atlanta Fire-Rescue Airport Division since 2005. Recently Retired as Captain of Airport Training with Atlanta Fire and Rescue. On his resume, Clemmons listed 30 years related experience, a Bachelor's in business administration from Shorter College and a Master's degree in public administration from Columbus State University, along with numerous Related Certifications.

The finalists for human resources director are: Darryl Bowie, executive team leader for Target Stores, Inc. since 2007. Bowie listed related more than 20 years experience including positions at Winn-Dixie Stores, personnel board of Jeffrson County, Alabama, and as an adjunct professor at Miles College. He listed on his resume a Master's degree in public administration from University of Alabama, Birmingham, and a Bachelor's in economics from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, as well as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification.

Malea Turner, area human resources manager for Lowe's Home Improvement since 2007. She listed over 10 years related experience including positions at the Georgia Lottery Corporation from 2003 to the end of 2006. Turner listed a Master's degree in Public Administration from Georgia State University, a Bachelor's in political science from University of South Carolina, and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification.

The BOC will meet July 18, 10 a.m. for a work session at 901 Main Street. The commissioners are expected to take action on these appointments at the next voting session Tuesday, July 26, 10 a.m. at 901 Main Street.
