Hospital recognized with Lactation Consultants award

Just in time for Mother's Day, the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners and The International Lactation Consultant Association have awarded Rockdale Medical Center the IBCLC Care Award for excellence in providing breast feeding support as part of Mother-Child healthcare.

This is the second time Rockdale Medical Center has received this global award, which applauds hospitals that provide dedicated and skilled care by professionally certified lactation consultants. The award also recognizes Rockdale Medical Center for setting into place activities that promote, protect and support breastfeeding families in its care.

According to the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, to be eligible, the facility must have a currently certified IBCLC on staff, a professional lactation support program available 5-7 days a week, evidence of having completed a breastfeeding or lactation consultant promotion/support project, and breastfeeding training for staff within the last two years.
