The 2009 - 2010 Heritage High School yearbook staff has big shoes to fill. The school's 2008-2009 yearbook staff was awarded excellent by the Georgia Scholastic Press Association this week for its 2009 L'Espirit Yearbook, which sold out in two days.

"Few classes develop the leadership, writing, editing, design, business, public relations, technology and management skills students receive while working on the yearbook. Creating a yearbook is a great way for students to learn first-hand the tenets and standards of the journalism profession," HHS Yearbook Advisor Tammy Herrington said. "This real-life experience is invaluable, no matter what career choice student eventually follow."

"Working on my school's yearbook has been so much fun! It allowed me to realize I want to become a magazine journalist after college," said Haley Shubert, a senior.
