The Heritage boys basketball team fell 58-56 to Eastside in the debut of first year coach Drew Williams on Friday night.

D.Q. Jackson scored 16 points and Jordan Davis added 12 for the Patriots, but it wasn't enough to overcome a big night by the Eagles.

Devon Gerald led all scorers with 23 points, and Devonte Barrett chipped in 14 for Eastside.

Despite the loss, Williams said he saw some thins to build on for the upcoming season.

"It's probably the hardest I've seen the team work since I've been here," Williams said.

The Heritage girls team also fell to Eastside, 64-46.
