Mr. Herb Baker, age 64 of Conyers, died Saturday, September 3, 2011.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel Claire Baker; father, Earl Elridge Baker; father-in-law, John Milam Morris.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lynn Morris Baker; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Bryan Janzer, Murrayville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Gwyn and Lonnie Pitts, Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Meredith Ritchie, Oxford, GA and Shelby Lynn Janzer, Murrayville, GA; mother-in-law, Betty Morris, Conyers, GA; nephews, Curtis Pitts, Lexington, SC, Christopher and Carol Pitts, Lugoff, SC.  Mr. Baker was retired from AT & T/Bellsouth after 42 years of service, a member of the Bellsouth Pioneers and the CWA.  He was a member of the first graduating class of Towers High School, served in the U.S. Navy and was an avid golfer.  Herb was a member of Bethel Christian Church, Conyers.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel with Rev. Chuck Baggett and Rev. Sid Bailey officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday, September 5, 2011 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Contributions may be made to your favorite charity, Hospice House of Conyers, 1374 Manchester Dr., Conyers, GA 30012, Crosspoint Christian Church, 4550 Ga.
