I put the phone down and felt the tears plop. So glad that I was all alone, I let myself have a good cry. There was nothing that I could do. As my head lay on my pillow, I wondered how God could ever comfort me in my despair.
Soon, tiny, steady clicks came closer. Seconds later, my precious dog, Dipstick (yes, that’s really her name), curled up beside me. Gently, she reached over and licked my tears. As I stroked her velvet fur, I realized that God sends me constant reminders of his presence.
He really does have everything under control.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (Re 21:4 NAB, NIV).
