The Harvest Festival in Covington is really the true start of the holiday season ‘round these parts. It’s because the city is just jam-packed with junk to do, including my personal favorite – the Mutt Show. The day starts with the Mutt Show, then vendors with crafts and food show up, the tractor showcase and parade happens that evening, followed by the annual showing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” at 7 p.m. Of course there’s face painting, and there will be a Jack-O-Lantern and Square-Crow contest. You can also take advantage of the nice cool weather as a reason and go on one of the self-guided walking tours around town. So come out and plan to make a day of it. Cause any day that starts out with puppies is going to be a good time.
