It's all hands on deck as the annual Hands Across Rockdale community service event returns Saturday, April 18.

Project applications and submissions are now being accepted for the event and organizations are encouraged to go to the website www.handsacrossrockdale.com to register or for corporate sponsorship. The deadline is February 24.

Previous projects include community beautification, school garden installation and assitance, playground improvements, painting / upgrades to senior homes, garden beds for Rockdale Career Academy for the culinary program, a garden at the Olivia Haydel Senior Center, installed sidewalks at Rockdale Cares, and more.

Organizations may register their own project with the focus on being a collaborative effort throughout the community of service to others.

The leadership of the Hands Across Rockdale project, organized by Leadership Rockdale and the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, want to ignite a passion for service and create lifelong community volunteers. Since its inception by the Leadership Rockdale Class of 2011, Hands Across Rockdale has grown to become an annual event of service and community beautification in Rockdale.
