IN BRIEF: Rockdale County's DUI Court recently received a $29,400 grant infusion from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety to treat repeat DUI offenders. The DUI Court treatment program has treated 70 participants since its inception by Rockdale County State Court Judge Nancy Bills in 2007.

The DUI Court received three grants in 2011: $12,135 in July from the Judicial Council of Georgia for one year, $29,400 in October from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for one year, and $165,732 in October from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration for the second year of a three year grant.

The court also received funding from the Hospital Authority of Rockdale County and the Bureau of Justice Assistance in 2010 that carried over to 2011.
