IN BRIEF:  "Goosebumps," a movie based on R.L. Stine's hit series of children's horror novels, will soon be filmed in Conyers.

Jack Black will star in the film, whose Conyers-based production was announced at today's board meeting of the Conyers Rockdale Economic Development Council. It appears to be the first official word anywhere that the long-rumored film is going into production.

Producers have leased a 130,000-square foot studio space at 2030 East Park Drive, and are starting location scouting and production hiring, according to CREDC film production liaison Gina Hartsell.

Producers hope "Goosebumps" will spawn sequels. To that end, they have leased the studio space for 10 months with a three-year renewal option, according to CREDC. Hartsell said word of the movie production came in the past week.
