The Georgia Department of Transportation is carrying out a resurfacing project on I-20 from State Route 124 (Turner Hill Road) to State Route 138 in Conyers.

Beginning mid-April 2009, Georgia DOT contractors will resurface and restripe both east and westbound lanes for 6 miles on the I-20 corridor. This project is scheduled to be complete by fall 2009.

Crews will work on the roads Sunday through Thursday overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday overnight from 9 p.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, and Saturday overnight from 9 p.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday. No work will take place on the holiday weekends of Memorial Day, Fourth of July or Labor Day.

Use caution when traveling through a work zone. Please note that speed limits in a work zone are reduced and enforced. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
