A fugitive and armed robbery suspect on the run since February has been caught. The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office deputy assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force has arrested a man wanted by the Conyers Police Department for an attempted armed robbery earlier this year.

On February 9, a black male suspect jumped the counter at the Texaco gas station located at 1801 Highway 138 in Conyers and attempted to rob the clerk at gunpoint. In early September, the Conyers Police Department was able to identify the suspect and take out arrest warrants. Warrants for Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault were taken on Dartez Mondain Scott.

Last week, the Conyers Police Department asked the RCSO deputy assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force to help locate Dartez Scott. On Thursday, September 24, 2013, Scott was arrested just after 12 PM after being tracked to his parents’ home in Stone Mountain. He was taken in custody without incident and transported to the Rockdale County Jail.

“Having our deputy assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service has been a great resource for both the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office and Conyers Police Department,” said Sheriff Eric Levett. “With all of us working together, we were able to get another dangerous criminal off the streets and behind bars in the Rockdale County Jail.”
