Project Renewal's shelter has been helping women and children fleeing domestic violence for more than a decade in Rockdale, Newton, Walton counties. Now it's time for the community to give back.

LaVie Spa and Salon is holding its second annual Autumn of Hope gala. "Automne L'Espoir" on Oct. 20, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. at Villa Serena in north Rockdale.

The gala couldn't come at a better time, as the domestic violence shelter was recently flooded out by a sprinkler malfunction which dumped 18,000 gallons of water on the facility. All the facility's donated supplies were ruined with mold and water damage, and the two-story building to be gutted. The shelter The facility is closed for the first time in its history, said Project ReNeWal Director Vickie Stevenson.

Tickets and sponsorships start at $125 for single tickets, $200 for couples, and $500 for a group of six. The gala features an evening of fine food, silent auction, festivities and a chance to dress up to the nines while helping a worthy cause.
