Visitation and funeral services for Brian Lamar Mahaffey, a Rockdale County Sheriff's deputy killed Saturday while serving a warrant, have been announced.

From 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday the family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Conyers.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist.

A law enforcement procession on Tuesday and Wednesday will leave out of Scot Ward Funeral Home, left through Olde Town Conyers to the Parker Road Bridge, left on Flat Shoals Road, left on Georgia Highway 20/138, across I-20, turning left on Boar Tusk Road, turning into First Baptist Church of Conyers.

Civilians may line the procession route and are encouraged to stay on sidewalks where sidewalks are available.

The family requested in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Brian Mahaffey Memorial Fund c/o Georgia Federal Credit Union, 1381 Milstead Ave., Conyers, GA 30012.
