Former Bulldog leads Cinderella upset
No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast beats No. 2 Georgetown

IN BRIEF: Former Rockdale Bulldog Bernard Thompson and No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast upset second seed Georgetown for a 78-68 victory Friday night. Thompson scored 23 points in the Eagles' first ever NCAA appearance. With the win, FGC became the seventh 15th seed in history to beat a No. 2 seed. 

Florida Gulf Coast will play the winner of Sunday's matchup between No. 7 San Diego State and No. 10 Oklahoma in Philadelphia.

Thompson joins former Rockdale teammate Kevin Ware in the third round of NCAA Tournament after Ware and overall No. 1 seed Louisville beat North Carolina A&T 79-48 Thursday. The Cardinals play No. 8 seed Colorado State Saturday at 5:15 in Lexington, Ky.
