The Food Lion grocery chain will unveil its newest location near the intersection of Ga. Highway 20 and Oglesby Bridge Road in a grand opening on July 28.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 7:45 a.m. and doors open at 8 a.m. Regular store hours will begin Thursday, July 28, from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m.

"We are really excited to grow in the Georgia market and are looking forward to providing an expanded selection of quality products at great prices to Georgia customers," said spokesperson Tom Gardner.

The 42,000 square-foot store will employ about 60 people and be managed by Conyers resident Jerome Johnson.

The first 300 customers visiting the store during its first three days of operation will receive a reusable gift bag filled with private labeled products.

In addition to produce, deli selections and grocery goods, the store will have a Western Union, Rug Doctor, Deli, Bakery, Red Box DVD Kiosk, Blue Rhino propane exchange, ATM and Coinstar and will eventually have a pharmacy.

Food Lion opened up two other stores in Georgia this year, in Richmond Hill and Douglasville. The next closest Food Lion location is in College Park.
