The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Yellow River near Conyers below Milstead from this afternoon until Wednesday evening.
At 10 a.m. Monday the stage was 6.0 feet - the flood stage for the Yellow River is above 11.0 feet. The forecast is for the river to rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to rise to near 15.9 feet by tomorrow morning. At 16.0 feet, moderate flooding begins.
In Rockdale County, flooding is expected in the Lake Capri subdivision.
As of 10 p.m. Monday, no flooding was reported although there was some standing water in low-lying areas, according to Rockdale County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Lt. Myra Pearrell. Roads and bridges were reportedly "mostly clear" as well.
The Yellow River was at "minor flooding" as of Wednesday afternoon.
The river is expected to fall below flood stage after early afternoon Wednesday.
