The buildings behind the Rockdale County jail were the scene of a film shooting last week starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and reportedly produced by Alicia Keys.

The Hallmark Channel production, which has a working title of "Crew 9," is shooting in the former Pardons and Paroles office, which is being converted to a state Youth Detention Center, behind the jail. The film follows a crew of female inmates trained in firefighting and search and rescue.

The production is shooting for about a week in Rockdale, according to Gina Hartsell of the Conyers-Rockdale Economic Development Council, and the Camera Ready Liason for Rockdale County.

Rockdale has recently been the site of productions such as "Fast Five," "American Reuinion" - the latest installment of the "American Pie" series, and "A Joyful Noise," starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton, as well as television productions such as "Vampire Diaries" and "Teen Wolf."
