The East Metro Farmers’ Market (EMFM) at Stonecrest will be celebrating its opening on Saturday, May 7, from 9 am - 1 pm and operating every subsequent Saturday, rain or shine until Thanksgiving.

This seasonal farmers’ market will be located in the parking lot in front of Borders Books and the main entrance to the Mall at Stonecrest on I-20 at Exit 75 in Lithonia, Georgia.

The market will feature produce grown within 10 miles of the Mall at Stonecrest. Shoppers coming to the East Metro Farmers’ Market will find a cast of local farmers and vendors including: Bobby Britt’s Bes Maid Garden Essentials, Brady Bala’s Double B Farm, Bellas Best Cookies, Just Butter (Shea Butter) and Soap Therapy, T-Bell’s Fresh Chunky Salsa, Heavenly Pastries and artists like Gina Chaney. All booths are attended by farmer-operators of either small farms or collections of small, urban micro-farms. Produce available at the market will include mushrooms, lettuces, beets, fancy greens, flowers and many unusual, ethnic or hard-to-find-fresh crops.

On Opening Day, May 7, chef James Hogan from Strip Steaks & Sushi is coming to turn up the heat at the East Metro Farmers Market at Stonecrest. Coming from the state of Texas, some of Chef Hogan’s favorite dishes to prepare are Southwestern. Hogan has 20 years in experience in the culinary arts and was formally with Houston’s for five years.

The East Metro Farmers’ Market will also accept purchases made with EBT and Snap Program.
