Nothing says family fun like an old school ice cream social, followed by a free concert. If this sounds like your idea of a good time, then I’ve got a great idea for you – spend the evening at Old Church in Oxford Saturday, eating some ice cream and enjoying music by The Old Time String Doctors. They play bluegrass, country, gospel and old-time traditions, and I’m told they are super awesome – and all local! Sponsored by the Oxford Historical Society and Lions Club, the ice cream social and concert is free, but donations are gladly accepted. There’s no website, but it’s from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday, and you can call Erik Oliver at 770-786-2245 with any questions.
