Extras are needed for a thriller set to begin shooting Sunday in Newton County and Conyers.

"Operator" will be filming July 9-August 1 and needs extras and production interns on various days during the shoot, according to Taylor Owenby, one of the movie's producers and a Covington native.

Owenby said he wants to hire as many locals as possible before taking extras from a larger casting call in Atlanta. He said he will need as many as 43 extras on the busiest days and will hire 15 people for the Sunday-Thursday schedule.

Those interested should be "clean-cut adults of all types" to be cast as call center workers, street passerby and school children.

Filming will also take place in Mansfield, Porterdale and Conyers. A follow-up story will highlight filming and movie details.

As of now, no streets will be closed during filming.
